There's enough action and adventure to keep you on the edge of your seat with a tad bit of humor thrown in. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in action novels. Throwing an FBI agent into the middle of assassins turned out great!

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Great Suspense Read By Phil D. If you are into police and suspense type books, give Manpower Pool a read. The storyline is about an L.A. Deputy, and LAPD detective who are roommates and have a business together. Sean Donnelly, the lead character is also in the Coast Guard reserves. They, Sean and Mark, end up working a case together along with an FBI agent, Ron. The storyline centers around a dirty bomb terrorist threat to the Los Angeles area and partially centers around the nuclear meltdown that happened at Rocketdyne atop the Simi Hills. The meltdown actually happened and is thought to have release more than 200 times the radiation into the atmosphere than that of Three Mile Island.Edwards was a Deputy Sheriff himself and brings a lot of his inside knowledge of how the Sheriff and LAPD departments work. He also lives in Simi Valley, California where the majority of the story takes place and brings a lot of interesting facts about the area. For instance, Simi Valley was once known as Simiopolis.This is Edwards first published book. I am already looking forward to the next one.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Good Read By JED This is a good read by a new author and I hope he writes another. His style reminds me of a cross between a Tom Clancy and a WEB Griffin. He develops his characters well and the story moves along. I recommend this book.
