Although this is not my typical read (too young for me), I found it really action packed right from the beginning. Think Walking Dead but without the gore. The book is not a full length novel, but is more of a series of shorts or a serial featuring the same characters over a stretch of time and I found that interesting (first time reader of that style). Zombie Bats is a neat tale where average teenagers become heroes, without the credit surrounding such tasks they overcome, and I must say I learned a lot about bats. My only complaint about the story is their dialogue sometimes appears stilted but it's easy to overlook. I also ran across a few misused words (quit instead of quiet, etc) but again, nothing too distracting.
