As Clint Bowie, a newly retired E-8, tours his country on a five year sabbatical, he learns that his country is in much more trouble than he thought while overseas. What he begins to experience on his journey, is ramped-up violence and disregard for anything of value, except to those who want to take it from others. In the process, he discovers rogue Federal Agents, acting without oversight or morals, fleecing innocent civilians of their weapons, money, and other valuables. As the story unfolds, Clint is stuck helping people in what appear to be war-torn cities with no law, and survivors who need help. Although an optimist, for the first time ever, Clint feels almost helpless, until someone close to him becomes a potential victim. Then, all bets are off.

Spoiler alert. This one starts with Clint Bowie. Clint is an E-8 in the Navy and he's just retired. He wants to travel all over America.Clint started out as a marine. He graduated third in his glass and the difference between first and third place was miniscule. Clint was then interviewed by an Admiral who told him he would be going to Navy boot camp. His training was handled the CIA Special Activities section. Why the Navy?? Well the Navy puts into ports all over the world and a trained Clint did many ops for the CIA in those ports and countries. There is much more the Clint Bowie than meets the eye.Bowie is also extremely wealthy and has his money managed by the Millers, father and son. He's had the elder Miller doing his accounts since he was old enough to earn money. The son took over later and is as good and accountant as his Dad. Clint Bowie is worth millions though nobody but Clint and his accountants know it.Clint has a specially modified truck and trailer both of which are loaded with hidey holes for gold and silver he's accumulated since he was sixteen. His truck and trailer are damned near impregnable and up armored and have bullet proof glass in both. He also has a switch he can use to cut off gasoline to the special engine. If by some crazy chance someone were to get in they wouldn't be able to start the vehicle. Clint flips that switch whenever he stops.Clint has been on his journey for over two years. He thought after five he would return home to Georgia. Of course he has other homes but Georgia is where he intends to end up.Clint is in excellent physical shape and he keeps himself that way with a workout he does every other day. He's an expert shot and is always armed. He's one very capable guy and his twenty plus years in the military have made him one very accomplished killer when the need arises.Clint likes to stop and read historical markers and has done so all across the country. Clint only travels back roads and by ways. He never travels the interstate. He's also a steak eater and never eats in chain restaurants He prefers to eat at those owned by a family. Same thing for motels. He does like to stop at a motel now and then for a good shower and an actual bed to sleep in. He sleeps in his trailer and uses a hammock for a bed. Its comfortable but a nice bed now and then is very nice as far as Clint is concerned.Right now things are looking bad in America. Some states won't take paper money anymore and gold and silver are what's needed to pay for things in those states. There are also many out there who want what you have and will kill you to get it. Clint has run into a few of those and they haven't survived the encounter.Clint has also seen black SUV's. These vehicle have at least three men in them. These men have been shooting homeless and others. Clint doesn't know what that's about but he knows these men are Feds and he's wondering what it all means. Its something he's about to find out.So begins one damned fine read. This one has Clint, an Oklahoma State Trooper who's a Sgt. by the name of Scott Holmes who gives Clint an insight to what's been going on, a Clint who decides to help him disappear, Arkansas where Scott, now called Owie, will be doing that disappearing, a steakhouse and a waitress named Sarah who Clint decides will be his new partner, a Sarah who's more than willing when Clint comes back to help her, a riot in Sarah's home town, a Clint who has no problem killing as many as he can, a Sarah who's more than she appears to be and is one hell of a shot herself, woman who are fleeing rapists, a Clint who takes them down, a liberal woman who thinks guns are evil even though Clint used a gun to save her and her daughters lives, a daughter who's much smarter than her idiot mother, a daughter who asks Clint to leave her mother and take her to her Uncles, the Uncle who's one smart man and had taught his niece how to use a gun, a Clint who will protect those he can, a Sarah who's now with Clint in his rig, a man named Phil Perkins who clues Clint in on the Fed's and what they are doing and Clint Bowie doing his best to help who he can, figure it all out and stay alive.Five Stars and then some. Super read.
