This was my first book in the series; I immediately fell in love with the writing and the story. I couldn't put it down, I must have used all the fingers on my left hand tracing my way back through story branches trying to map out all the different endings. It was a delight to get to know the characters in different ways through the different story paths.Grown-up subject matter and content make this definitely not for kids, but it's all part of the story; nothing gratuitous.

There are warm spots by mom, adventures with siblings, bright sunbeams, gruesome kitten death, fresh milk to drink, yummy treats, and so many fun ways to go!
